For Southern Baptists, The Bigger Breakfast 2010 theme is “Grasp the Vision.” The Bigger Breakfast’s primary objective is to gather men across the Southern Baptist Convention to launch a 40-day prayer plan for spiritual awakening among men in North America.
“Our churches need the time, commitment, and passion that men bring to the local church,” said Jim Burton, the North American Mission Board’s Mission Education Team Leader. “Many churches want to launch or re-launch ministry with and to men. Our hope is that The Bigger Breakfast will be the gathering event for launching that vision and a united time of prayer.
“I would encourage churches to make this an occasion where men feel free to bring their friends, sons, grandsons, or other boys. Guests and children need to see Christian men gathering for the priority of connecting with God’s mission.”

Worship will be from 7:00 - 7:30; small groups will meet 7:30 - 8:30; and then fellowship 8:30 - 9:00. Ladies, it’s time for a Jubilee! On Friday, October 8th at 6:30 p.m., Michelle Myers will be here to help us get fit. Spiritually fit that is! Michelle Myers, originally from Knoxville, graduated from Southwestern Seminary and serves with her husband in young adult ministry at Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. Michelle’s ministry, Myers Cross Training, combines her passion for being spiritually strong and physically fit. She has just published her first book, “The Look that Kills: An Anorexic’s Addiction to Control”. Please join us for an evening of food, fellowship, worship & praise and the opportunity to “get fit”. Helping Men Align With God's Mission for Their Life and FamilyBuilt for significance: Helping Men Align with God's Mission in Their Life and Family is a three-session experience designed to help men answer the question, "Why am I here?
October 22-23rd at Camp Ba-Yo-Ca. I am excited that we will have Jim Burton from the North American Mission Board present with us. Jim Wrote this material and will lead all three sessions. We will leave from the Church at 6pm on Friday and return to the church by 4pm Saturday. The cost this year will be $60 each but will cover Dinner Breakfast and Lunch. We will have two sessions in the morning on Saturday one on Archery and another on Skeet shooting. |
